Southeast Asia Art Resource Channel (SEARCH) is a pilot portal and index for contemporary Southeast Asian art resources.

“Contemporary Southeast Asian art” might be seen as a convenient term bracketing discrete practices and art scenes in various “stages” of development. With the growth of ASEAN and with the rise of modern and contemporary Asian art practices, Southeast Asia has provided an attractive concept of a roughly coherent geographical bloc united by cultural and historical commonalities. Those working within the regional art scene have nonetheless recognized the usefulness and importance of “Southeast Asia” as a platform for exchange and a framework for art activity and research, and SEARCH has been developed with this in mind.
