The Minister of Culture formulates, conducts, enforces and assesses the global and coordinated policy in the field of culture and the domains pertaining thereto, namely safeguarding and enhancing the cultural heritage, encouraging artistic creation and cultural dissemination, qualifying the cultural fabric, and, in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking Portuguese culture and language abroad, as well as in the field of the media.
