51 Asian and European countries

We focus on 51 member countries of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM), namely: Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Brunei Darussalam, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Croatia, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Lao PDR, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Mongolia, Myanmar, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan, the Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, the United Kingdom and Viet Nam.

Multilateral Asia-Europe projects

We give preference to multilateral projects between Asia and Europe. We also publish Asia-Asia projects, Europe-Europe projects or projects that might have an international element. In the latter cases, we pay attention to countries that have fewer items published on our website or to projects that are particularly innovative.

Multiple disciplines and art forms

We publish items on the following disciplines and art forms: craft, dance, design, festivals, film, heritage, literature, museums, music, new media, performing arts, photography, theatre, visual arts. We focus on contemporary art and living artists.

Cultural diplomacy and policy

We have a particular interest in cultural diplomacy and cultural policy. We are very interested in cultural news, events and opportunities that bring together government representatives and civil society.

Individuals and organisations

Opportunities can be for individuals or organisations. Projects are often small to medium in size. (We do not often publish opportunities with multi-million-dollar budgets.)

Clear terms

Opportunities and events must have clear terms and conditions. We prioritise paid opportunities and free events, however, there might be instances where we publish an opportunity which has fees or are ticketed events, as they might involve countries in Asia or Europe where there are fewer Asia-Europe exchanges. We leave it to the applicants to carefully read the conditions.
