Public Education | My Story

The Education and Outreach Division of the National Heritage Board aims to promote awareness and appreciation of the cultural and historical heritage of Singapore to Singaporeans and visitors.

Their mission is to foster nationhood, identity and creativity through education, outreach and community programmes and events.

The multi-faceted programmes offered by the Division cater to children and the wider public, and engage them in debate and discussion on what makes them truly Singaporean. The Division is also in charge of promoting Singapore's national symbols, so as to encourage Singaporeans to have a sense of place and pride in the nation.

Some of the more popular programmes include highly interactive and educational travelling exhibitions, the Singapore HeritageFest, which is a 12-day celebration of Singapore's unique heritage, the marking of historically significant sites and designing heritage trails and hunts.

It promotes heritage knowledge and activities in Singapore, and encourage the public to gather friends and families to enjoy these activities together.
