The Oporto International Film Festival specialises in fantasy and science-fiction films.

The Festival runs now in 5 screens (2.500 seats altogether) and shows over 200 new feature films each year, in the Official Competitive Section (Fantasy films), Directors Week (non-fantasy films), Music Videos section and in the Retrospective Sections (general). The press coverage of the Festival is made by all the most important Portuguese newspapers, radio stations and television networks and by foreign specialized press. Almost 110,000 entries, per year is the average of the Festival’s past editions.
