Czech Centre Seoul

The Czech Centres promote Czech cultural life on the international stage and actively reinforce the perception of the Czech Republic throughout the world as a modern and creative country with a rich cultural tradition. The organisation was established and is funded by the Czech Republic’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to advocate on behalf of the Czech Republic abroad.

The seat of the Czech Center Seoul is in the building of the previous embassy, close to the Gyeongbok Royal Palace, in the historical city center of the capital. In close cooperation with important Korean partners the Czech Center Seoul regularly organises various cultural and educational events such as exhibitions, film screenings, theatre and dance performances, lectures and workshops. It also supports publishing of Czech literature in Korea. Moreover it assists in establishing contacts between Czechia and the Republic of Korea in all fields of social and cultural life and makes efforts to develop mutual exchange between both of the countries in general.

The Czech Centre Seoul, established in 2013, is the 22nd centre in the organisation of Czech Centres and 4th centre outside of Europe. The Czech Centre Seoul represents 5th European cultural institute (after institutes of Germany, France, Great Britain and Italy) in the Republic of Korea.
