Artishok Theatre

The Artishock Theatre was established in 2001 and became the first independent theatre company in Kazakhstan.

Physical theatre, pantomime, interactive street performances, outstanding improvisation skills – all these contribute to the Artishock theatre’s success in participating and winning grand prizes at international theatre competitions and festivals in Europe, Russia, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Kazakhstan.

Artishock is successful in creating dramatic and “new writing” productions as well as plays based on classical and modern literature. Artishock participates in various international theatre events and contributes to the development and promotion of the contemporary performing arts by initiating projects widely recognised in the arts and culture sector of Kazakhstan and Central Asia.
