Asia Network for Dance (AND+)

Asia Network for Dance (AND+) is a network dedicated to connecting, developing and empowering contemporary practice in dance within Asia. Its mission is to share knowledge and information, expand connections for dance professionals and strengthen the visibility of dance within and beyond Asia.

The network is steered by a core group: a collective of passionate dance professionals who are committed to connect, collaborate, share and lead the network’s vision and mission. AND+ is not a membership organisation and the network functions without hierarchical structure. In 2022, the core group has professionals from Australia, China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.

AND+ launched in Hong Kong in May 2018 during West Kowloon Cultural District Authority’s Producer Network Meeting and Forum. In 2020 they held their 6th Meeting (online), with a focus on pan-Asia initiatives and Indonesia, in conjunction with Indonesia Dance Festival. In addition to their meetings, they hold international talks (with both Asian and European participants), share industry information and in 2020 they developed a mapping of dance festivals, funding, networks and residency opportunities in Asia.
