Taking place in Katowice, Poland, WOMEX 17 will host five intense and joyous days of music and business with music professionals from around the world. From 25 – 29 October 2017, WOMEX will host the annual celebration of professional cultural exchange featuring live music, conference sessions, film screenings, business opportunities and more.

The 23rd edition of WOMEX - the World Music Expo - will be held in the UNESCO City of Music of Katowice, Poland from 25 - 29 October 2016. Each year, the WOMEX Showcase, Film and Conference programme is created based on an annual call for proposals inviting members of the international music community to apply to take part.

The Showcase, DJ Summit and Conference selection is made each year by an independent Jury, and the Film programme is curated by our in-house Film team. WOMEX receives many high quality proposals for a limited number of slots, so the task is tough and the competition is strong. SHOWCASE

Perform at the premier global music showcase event, in front of one of the largest audiences of dedicated international concert and festival bookers, tour promoters and venues, labels, distributors, journalists and industry professionals. We welcome submissions from all corners of world and jazz music!

DJ

WOMEX presents a specialised DJ Summit, showcasing eclectic international DJs to bring their global sounds to the wider world music industry. We encourage DJs of any genre, medium and background to apply, and to bring their sounds to the world!

FILM

WOMEX Film presents new releases - documentaries that portray music, movements and history from across the world. Apply to have your feature, middle-length or short shown at WOMEX gives you a platform to present your work and connect directly to the world music community.

CONFERENCE & MENTORING

WOMEX is seeking proposals from representatives from every sector who wish to present their vision, map out an idea or lay the foundation for moving the industry forward. Come and discuss your viewpoint or latest discovery to enlighten and network with your peers.
