UK | Future Art Ecosystems Fellowship

 

Serpentine Arts Technologies is calling for applications from practitioners working across art and advanced technologies for their inaugural Future Art Ecosystems (FAE) R&D Fellowship: Art x Convergence. The inaugural Fellowship is a six-month, low-residency programme (September 2026–March 2027) supporting individual practitioners and broader ecosystem development in art and advanced technologies.

Fellows are invited to pursue a defined research question connected to their practice or a project in development, in response to this year’s FAE Fellowship theme of Art x Convergence, an invitation to explore how AI is reshaping cultural and societal systems.

The inaugural FAE Fellowship runs in a low-residency hybrid format, combining biweekly online cohort sessions and bespoke mentorship with three in-person weekend intensives in London across September 2026, November 2026, and March 2027.

Eligibility

Applications are now open for artists, curators, technologists and organisers, supporting early-stage creative research grounded in process, dialogue and shared learning. The FAE Fellowship is for individuals and collectives and international applicants can apply.

Support

Four fellows (individuals or collectives) will each receive a 10,000 GBP award, alongside travel and accommodation support for the London weekends, plus specialist seminars, workshops and structured peer learning through the cohort.
