Mekong Cultural Hub - recruiting regional representatives

None

Mekong Cultural Hub is recruiting part-time Regional Representatives, cultural practitioners who are active in their own communities. Two from each of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan will be recruited.

Are you a cultural practitioner, active in your own community, interested in developing your regional network and excited about the idea of shaping and initiating more projects and collaborations between countries? Mekong Cultural Hub is looking for you!

The MCH Regional Representatives are a very important part of the MCH team and network. To start with there will be 12 Regional Representatives (2 from each of Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Taiwan).

The Regional Representatives have two main responsibilities:

1. Give input, advice and direction to MCH as it develops programs and services,

2. To be a two-way promoter of opportunities between your local arts community and the regional network (which can be via MCH but also beyond)

It is a part time role, and something that would be suitable for somebody who is already quite active in their own community, interested in developing their own regional network and is excited about the idea of shaping and initiating more projects and collaborations between countries.

Highlights

  • Two year commitment (2019 and 2020)

  • Join an annual workshop with the other representatives from around the region (2019 in Taipei and 2020 somewhere in the Mekong Region)

  • Visit another representative in their country, build your networks and promote your local arts community

  • Host a representative from another country and show them what your arts community has to offer

  • Share news and opportunities from around the region, including your own community

  • Access to other regional and international networks

  • Annual stipend

The organisers are seeking two representatives from each country - and would like at least one of them to represent somewhere outside the capital city. They don't mind what your job is or even if you have a job - what's important is that you are passionate about connecting people and you can be a great ambassador for what's going on in your arts community.

Deadline: 22 November 2018

Mekong Cultural Hub (MCH) serves people who are working at the intersection of arts and society. It aims to support creative practitioners who are already established in their own contexts – and are ready to widen their networks and their impact by developing regional projects and collaboration. This responds to a need within Asia, and especially the Mekong Region to have closer connections with neighbouring countries, and to share experience and resources.

MCH’s programs include network building, professional and artistic exchange, creative collaboration and leadership development. MCH’s focus areas are Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar, Thailand and Taiwan; including participation from other South-East Asian countries on particular programs. MCH works with a network of cultural professionals around the region to advise and support on program development and to share opportunities to peers.
