Hong Kong International Writers’ Workshop 2027

 

The International Writers’ Workshop (IWW) at Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU) is calling for applications from international writers for their Writers-in-Residence Programme from 26 February to 25 March 2027.

Founded in 2004, IWW has hosted over 150 writers from more than 60 countries.

The programme will culminate in the IWW Literary Festival with the theme of ‘Inheritance’. Writers are encouraged to share a piece of writing in conversation with the Literary Festival’s theme.

Eligibility

• Writers must have at least one published book
• Writers must currently reside outside of Hong Kong
• Writers must have a functional command of English or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese)

Support

• Roundtrip economy class airfare
• Accommodation on HKBU’s campus for 4 weeks
• A per diem
