Since its inception in 2008, the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès has supported the contemporary creative arts in their many forms. In 2011, the Foundation launched a new programme of support, dedicated to the performing arts: New Settings. Call for projects for New Settings 2017.

The programme encourages performing arts initiatives by providing support for the development and staging of new productions. New Settings supports theatrical productions with a strong (predominant) visual arts component. Innovative and ground-breaking new works may involve co-authors and new expressive forms, exploring new ways of relating to and engaging audiences. The Foundation will provide independent support for several projects each year: new works by established or emerging artists, scheduled for national or international tours.

hermeslogoFor the seventh edition, works to be supported will be chosen from productions with a planned premiere between January and December 2017. The selected shows will receive support for their production and staging. In addition, each show will be offered performance dates in theatres or cultural centres across Paris, based on the company’s existing partnerships, and in reference to partnerships already established by the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès. Due to upcoming changes to the executive team at the Théâtre de la Cité Internationale, the Fondation d'entreprise Hermès may not schedule performances of supported works at this venue in 2017. The selected projects will all be identified by the New Settings label.

Lastly, the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès may offer some productions support to tour to New York as part of the city’s annual Crossing the Line festival, organised by the FIAF French Institute Alliance Française. For projects selected in 2017, the support for touring productions in New York will apply from 2018.

Applicants are invited to submit their projects to the Fondation d’entreprise Hermès

DEADLINE: September 30, 2016
