China | Guyan Huaxiang Art Center Residency 2026

International artists are invited to participate in a 30-day artist residency in Lishui, Zhejiang Province (China) at the Guyan Huaxiang Art Center, a cultural village renowned for its artistic heritage and spectacular natural environment.

This region is shaped by over 1,500 years of history, notably through the Tongji Weir irrigation system, now recognised as a World Heritage site. This has given rise to what is known in China as the ‘Lishui Barbizon,’ referring to a tradition of artistic practice deeply connected to the observation of nature.

Situated between mountains, rivers, and ancient villages, Lishui is one of the most ecological cities in China and has been a true source of inspiration for artists, particularly in painting, photography, and landscape-based practices.

This residency is organised in collaboration with LooLooLook Gallery, a Paris-based art gallery involved in the artistic coordination of the project, and it offers visibility in both Europe and China.
