Call for Submissions: Inward Gazes - Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art 2012, for exhibition at Macao Museum of Art. Eligibility conditions: residents of China, Taiwan and overseas Chinese invited to apply.

The human body is the most important reference object by which people are able to know, touch, be concerned about, encourage and confront each other, as well as reflect upon themselves. To encourage mutual understanding and respect between all people through such multi-faceted and multi-dimensional cultural exchange, the Macao Museum of Art successfully hosted exhibitions entitled ‘Inward Gazes: Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art’ in 2005 and 2008 respectively, featuring works of performance art. Until now, the Museum’s collection of Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art accommodates 439 works.

In 2012, the Museum will host the third exhibition of ‘Inward Gazes: Documentaries of Chinese Performance Art’, through which it is hoped to continue collecting and conserving cherished contemporary Chinese performance art in order to facilitate further exploration, presentation and promotion of this form of art.

Submission Requirements
Residents of Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao and Mainland China on either side of the Strait and overseas Chinese are welcome to submit their works;
Works may be submitted in the name of individual artists or artist groups; when works are submitted under the name of an artist group, each member is required to submit his/her personal data (Form 1);
Postal expenses on submitted works are to be borne by the submitting party, who is exempt from entry fees.
Any works having been submitted in previous version will not be accepted again.

Assessment period: 5 - 9 Mar 2012
Date of announcement of result: Mar 2012 (Available on www.artmuseum.gov.mo)
Date of inauguration of exhibition: 8 Aug 2012
