Poets Translating Poets is a project of the Goethe-Institut in 2015-16 bringing together poets and their poetry from Germany, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh & Sri Lanka, translating each others poems. Intensive Encounter workshops bring together participants and test assumed boundaries of communication across the many languages of South Asia.

On World Poetry Day, 21 March 2016, in Berlin there will be a concert of voices, verses and languages, with poets and poetry from across the world.

You can read the translated poems and many interesting essays on the poetry of South Asia and Germany on the project website. Reports from the Encounters workshops are also available, held recently in Dhaka, Chennai, Karachi, Kolkata and other cities in the region.
