New Mandala is an online information platform hosted by the Australian National University’s (ANU) Coral Bell School of Asia Pacific Affairs. It provides anecdote, analysis and new perspectives on mainland Southeast Asia.

Since its inception the site has devoted its attention to the politics and societies of this region, and especially Thailand and Myanmar. Increasingly its focus stretches to Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam.

Policy news, analysis of contemporary realities in South East Asian societies and book reviews are available on New Mandala.

New Mandala encourages debate and discussion and welcomes original contributions that haven’t been published in other media. We cover politics and society in the region and everything in between across a wide-range of formats.
