Museum Job: Head of Collections

Deadline: 5pm GMT 1 March 2013

The Chester Beatty Library, Dublin, Ireland is currently seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to fill this senior management post.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • to lead the Collections area of the Library and to implement its strategic priorities;
  • to engage with relevant research communities;
  • to understand user needs and reflect them in content development and interpretation;
  • to develop and maintain partnerships with other libraries, museums, research institutions and technology partners as appropriate.

The CBL is a collegial organisation and the holder of the post will be expected to work in consultation with his/her professional colleagues in advising the Director. S/he will be an advocate for the Collections team of the CBL.

In addition, the holder of this post will be Curator of either the East Asian Collection or the Western Collection.
