Everything Forever Now | eco-design exhibition
The British Council in Bankgok in collaboration with the Thaliand Creative and Design Center
(TCDC) presents the exhibition “Everything Forever Now: Designs for a sustainable future”
, a showcase of new approaches and innovations in sustainable design by contemporary designers and architects.
In recent years there has been a shift in the way that designers approach the idea of sustainable design. Now they view it less as a problem, and more as a fact of life – and certainly as an opportunity to rethink what and how we make things, and how we might go about our lives in a more effective and positive way.
The knack for sideways thinking allows designers to apply new mechanics to familiar products and systems. Through intelligent design, and by utilising new technologies and materials, sustainable solutions can be developed to naturally give back what they take out (or more). Seeing the eco-angle as integral, designers are able to pioneer technologies and techniques that promise to change our environment for the better.
Whether designing for longevity, building self-sufficient communities, improving the efficiency of infrastructures or developing new materials, the new guard of green designers quietly promises one thing: to deepen and improve our relationship with the environment, both now and well into the future.
