Creative Alliances: Internationalisation and self-organisation of project spaces

This online exchange meeting and workshop, held on 7 May 2025, explores the question of how project spaces and independent initiatives can collaborate and organise themselves on an international and national level. This is a question that is becoming more and more important in this increasingly networked world.
This event is organised by Kreativ-Transfer and the IGBK (Internationale Gesellschaft der Bildenden Künste), with contributions from: Lisa Schorm (Network of Independent Berlin Project Spaces and Initiatives), Valentina Riccardi (Director, Culture Department, Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF)), Jaemin Shin (Project space The WilloW), Kiyoung Peik (Modu Art Space), Doris Poon (Videotage).
The exchange provides an opportunity to present and discuss innovative approaches and practices that go beyond state funding, exploring what experiences and models already exist. The programme will look at different levels of cooperation:
- Opportunities for joint action and forms of self-organisation
- Transnational networks and platforms between Europe and Asia
- Working methods of project spaces with a focus on East Asia
