Antwerp | 3rd International Research Conference on Cultural and Creative Industries
The
3rd International Research Conference on the Cultural and Creative Industries takes place in Antwerp, Belgium, 22-23 May 2014. The conference taps in to the changing dynamics between creative industries, knowledge institutions and urban policy.
The conference is organized by
Antwerp Management School (see left), the University of Antwerp, Belgium and HKU University of the Arts (Utrecht), Netherlands. The conference taps into three trends within the cultural and creative industries (CCIs) currently being discussed and the (changing) dynamics between them:
- entrepreneurship,
- the urban environment and
- the role of creative, innovative and educational knowledge institutions.
This scientific conference will address various sectors of the arts and cultural industries (performing arts and festivals, heritage, museums and visual arts, film production and distribution, book publishing, recording, broadcasting, audiovisual media and multimedia, design).
The Keynote speech is by Edna Dos Santos, former Head of Creative Economy at UNCTAD. Conference speakers will present their research activities and research articles as well as theoretical/conceptual papers that engage with pertinent questions and issues in depth.
