75th Anniversary of Pakistan-China Diplomatic Relations

An exhibition celebrating cultural heritage and long-standing ties between Pakistan and China has opened in Hong Kong. Titled ‘A Pictorial Depiction of History, Heritage and Diversity of Pakistan’, the showcase presents 80 original collages offering a chronological visual journey through Pakistan’s ancient roots, landscapes, arts, languages and the diversity of its people.

The exhibition forms part of a series of activities marking the 75th anniversary year of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China and highlights cultural connections between the two countries. Khalil Hashmi, Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, inaugurated the event, underlining the durability of Pakistan–China relations and noting that anniversary-year commemorations were launched earlier this month in Beijing with the unveiling of a 75th-anniversary logo by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister alongside China’s Foreign Minister.

The collages span a broad range of themes, from the freedom movement, historic monuments and religious architecture to arts and sciences, sports and cultural diversity. They also draw attention to cultural convergences between Pakistan and China, including shared heritage such as Gandhara art.
