Podcast | The state of play of Australia’s cultural mobility

In this episode of Opportunities for Mobility & More, ASEF culture360 speaks with Claire Wilson, the Editor of culture360.ASEF.org and the researcher of the 2025 edition of the Australia Mobility Funding Guide.
This conversation centres around:
- Australia's funding structure: With a population of over 27 million and a huge diversity in its population, what does the funding landscape in Australia look like?
- Gaps in incoming mobility: What are some other avenues we can look towards for those interested in travelling and exchanging with Australia?
- Accessibility in regional vs urban areas: How does being a geographically large country translate to financial and logistical challenges faced by Australian artists and professionals?
- Rethinking mobility: Mobility should include the right not to move.
Since 2012, ASEF through culture360 has collaborated with On the Move (OTM), the European network for cultural mobility to jointly present the Mobility Funding Guides for International Cultural Exchange for the 51 countries of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). We hope that these guides will help you navigate cultural organisations that fund exchanges in and between Asia and Europe.
