Julie's Bicycle, the UK based coalition of music, theatre and scientific experts committed to making the creative industries green publishes a new report examining the carbon impacts of touring theatre productions abroad.

The report calculates the carbon impacts of touring various scale theatre productions and examines the environmental issues associated with theatre touring.  Examples include a UK small-scale subsidised theatre tour in Asia.

Julie’s Bicycle is a broad coalition of music, theatre and scientific experts committed to making the industry green. Its ambition is global with the main operations in the UK.  Almost everything Julie's Bicycle does is relevant to other creative industries and other global territories.

It has published other reports on the carbon impacts of touring Bands and Orchestras.  Register on the site for access to all other free download reports.

Julie’s Bicycle has developed Industry Green (IG) - a standard for companies working in the creative industries. It’s a simple assessment programme that helps you understand and reduce your environmental impacts. Companies involved in the programme carry the ig mark to communicate their commitment to staff, suppliers, consumers and audiences. Industry Green is available for CD packaging, festivals and outdoor events, offices and venues.  JB is also developing an Industry Green assessment programme for tours.
