Research center Cupore is an expert in cultural policy research. Cupore's mission is to produce and disseminate research data, studies and evaluations on cultural policy for decision-making and civil society.

Cupore conducts research, surveys, assessments and forecasts. In addition to their research work, their staff work in various ways in expert positions in cultural policy. They conduct research both independently and in collaboration with decision-makers in the field of culture and cultural policy, the academic research community, universities and research institutes. They publish research results mainly through our website in the form of e-publications and digital working papers.

Their well-established domestic partners are the Ministry of Education and Culture, the University of Jyväskylä, Arts Promotion Center Finland, the Association of Finnish Municipalities and public and private actors in art and culture. Cupore is a stakeholder member of the Association of the Compendium of Cultural Policies and Trends, which maintains the Internet-based information system for European cultural policy, and Cupore is an author of Finland's profile. Their other key international partners are the Nordic network of Cultural policy researchers and the Nordic Journal of Cultural Policy (Nordisk Kulturpolitisk Tidsskrift), as well as the European network on cultural management and policy ENCATC.

The Center for Cultural Policy Research Cupore is maintained by the Foundation for Cultural Policy Research (Kulttuuripoliittisen tutkimuksen edistämissäätiö sr). The foundation was founded by the University of Jyväskylä and the Finnish Cultural Foundation in 2002, and its purpose is to monitor the development of Finnish and international cultural policy and to promote research, expertise and communication in this field. The Ministry of Education and Culture was one of the initiators of the foundation and has been responsible for funding its research activities.
