META Cultural Foundation

META Cultural Foundation is one of the first private Romanian organisations activating in the field of visual arts.

Established in 1995 by the sculptor Romelo Pervolovici, META Cultural Foundation opens today towards the multiple domains/spaces/spheres of contemporary art, towards inter/trans/multi disciplines, unconventional location, and experimentation. META Foundation began as an artistic project and has now developed as an institution.

The idea behind the creation of the META Foundation was to create and promote a contemporary cultural discourse, with the accent on collaboration between different sciences and visual arts. Additionally, it aims to promote contemporary Romanian art and to establish regional and European networks of cooperation in the cultural field, allowing a better representation of Romanian contemporary art at the international level.

According to its mission, META Foundation manages its activities in multiple directions: exhibitions of Romanian contemporary art, sculpture symposia, interdisciplinary symposia, workshops – all these actions reunited artists, curators, art critics, managers, mathematicians, literates, anthropologists, and biologists from across Europe.
