Portugal | Santa Maria da Feira Creative City of Gastronomy temperART 2024 programme

Santa Maria da Feira | Creative City of Gastronomy | UNESCO programme is calling for proposals from artists, chefs, technological entrepreneurs and artistic companies that explore the intersection between gastronomy, performing arts and media arts for temperART 2024.

The calls, which are aimed at cultural and creative and gastronomic agents, aim to promote dialogue and the intersection of gastronomy with the performing arts, digital arts, media arts, robotics and technologies.

There are two strands in this edition: media arts and contemporary circus.

Media arts: A project to be created in an artistic residency and presented at the FOOD 4 Thought International Conference, 2–4 April 2025.

Circus: A project to be created in an artistic residency and presented at Imaginarius – International Street Theatre Festival, 22–25 May 2025, under the theme ‘Progress’.

The artistic residencies will have an average duration of one to three weeks (between August 2024 and March 2025), and presentations must take place in public space.

Support provided

In both strands, financial support worth a maximum of 16,000 EUR will be awarded, distributed as follows:

5,000 EUR for the selected project, including food costs
5,000 EUR for artistic creation, development, implementation and presentation (production costs)
3,000 EUR for possible and relevant artistic collaborations or specialised mentoring (e.g. collaboration with a chef or artistic mentor)
Up to 3,000 EUR for travel
