UNESCO has launched a global survey on the role of civil society in implementing the 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions. Civil society organisation around the world are invited to contribute to a 10 minute online survey (by 31 March) to help develop understanding of their awareness of and consultation in promoting and implementing the Convention.

The research organisation BOP Consulting is working with UNESCO to gather information and data for the 2017 edition of the UNESCO Global Report on the role of civil society in the promotion and implementation of the 2005 Convention .

The Global Report is designed to identify the principal advances made in relation to the Convention and to explore the difficulties and challenges faced by Parties and other relevant policy actors in implementing the Convention since ratification across 10 core policy areas. “Partnering with Civil society” is one of these areas.

The survey is exploring the extent to which civil society actors are aware of the 2005 Convention and the extent to which they are consulted in the process of its promotion and implementation. More broadly, the survey is gathering thoughts and perspectives on how cultural policies are created and implemented around the world and the role of civil society in this process.

The survey is being conducted securely and independently online by BOP Consulting. The responses are anonymous and confidential, and aggregate findings will only be presented at the country level.

The survey should take around 10 minutes to complete and can be accessed via this link.
