After the successful Indo-French dance performances showcased during the first edition of the festival of France, Bonjour India (2009-10), the French Embassy in India is pleased to present the first Indo-French contemporary dance festival: DanSe Dialogues. Opening in Delhi on 2 November 2011, DanSe Dialogues aims to strengthen the artistic cooperation between the two countries in the field of contemporary dance. It will feature three French choreographers touring Delhi, Chennai and Bengaluru to present their productions alongside nine Indian dance companies spread over the three cities. DanSe Dialogues will also involve Master Classes, video screenings of dance films and Encounters with French choreographers. The festival takes place in Delhi from 2-8 November, in Chennai from 5-12 November and in Bangalore from 8-12 November 2011. DanSe Dialogues aims to create interest in French and Indian contemporary and alternative dance practices and participate in the growth of such dance in India. Thus, it will foster exchanges and meetings between French and Indian professionals and encourage Indo-French projects. DanSe Dialogues is being organised by the Embassy of France in India in association with the Alliances Françaises of Delhi, Chennai and Bangalore, and in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations, Delhi International Arts Festival, Gati Dance Forum in Delhi, Kalakshetra and Prakriti Foundations in Chennai, Attakkalari Centre for Movements Arts in Bangalore.
