There will be a live performance by Nikhil Chopra - Broken White V, from 14-19h on 15 October and a guided tour through the exhibition on 14 Oct at 17h by Pooja Sood and visiting artists. Works exhibited have been realised in public space by artists from the Khoj incubator for art and artistic discourse which works through intensive interdisciplinary exchange and international dialogue. The Institute for Foreign Cultural Relations and the ifa Galleries Stuttgart and Berlin help to set up relations between people and institutions worldwide. In the ‘connect:’ exhibition series the ifa are working with partners who share their aims in international cultural exchange. Khoj is an incubator for art and artistic discourse, a platform for interdisciplinary exchange and intercultural dialogue, a creative place for artistic encounters, for cultural and crosscultural education, a protagonist and key meeting point in a global network. Khoj is an initiative, founded and organised by artists working for artists. Khoj is overcoming borders: More than 500 artists from the whole world have met here since Khoj was founded in 1997. Pooja Sood, director of Khoj, and Matthias Görlich developed an exhibition concept presenting the whole institution with as many different facets as possible. They decided that artists should ‘do the talking’: Bani Abidi, Zuleikha Chaudhari, Nikhil Chopra, Rohini Devasher, Matthias Görlich, Shilpa Gupta and Huma Mulji, Abhishek Hazra, Hema Upadhyay, Sylvia Winkler and Stephan Köperl worked with Khoj and realised photographs, videos, installations, performances or interventions in the public space. The openness and vibrancy of Khoj will be transferred through artists and their works to Stuttgart! The exhibition is acompanied by a catalogue. The catalogue is available via the onlineshop. ——————————————————————————– This event came via ifa.de (Thanks!) ——————————————————————————-
