ASEF Creative Networks & Creative Encounters: Calls 2015/16 Launched

The Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) has recently launched the 2015/16 calls for proposals for its ASEF Creative Networks and Creative Encounters: Cultural Partnerships between Asia and Europe programmes. ASEF Creative Networks, which now reaches its third edition, welcomes joint proposals from Asian and European cultural networks for activities such as capacity building workshops, mapping of good practices, expansion of Asian or European networks to the other region, among others. Through this project, ASEF seeks to strengthen its role as a connector between cultural networks of the two regions over the past 15 years. On the other hand, Creative Encounters: Cultural Partnerships between Asia and Europe, launched in partnership with Arts Network Asia (ANA) and with the support of Trans Europe Halles (TEH), is now reaching its fifth edition. This programme aims to actively foster connections across cultures by supporting artistic collaborations, exchanges and dialogues. This should serve to reinforce Asia-Europe exchanges with the objectives of deepening mutual understanding between cultural communities in the two regions, enhancing the mobility of artists and cultural professionals, and encouraging creative collaborations. It should be noted that projects involving ASEMUS partners have been supported in previous years. The 2014/15 round of Creative Networks, for instance, supported the 'Curating Batik' project, which involves several museums in Asia and Europe. For both programmes, ASEF encourages initiatives that engage as many partners and participants from the 51 member countries of the Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Proposals should be submitted by a minimum of 2 partners, one each from Asia and Europe. Activities must take place between 1 April and 30 November 2016.
