'Against the Grain: Conversations on Writing & Translation in Asia' is the theme for the 8th Asia Pacific Writers' & Translators' Annual Gathering in Manila, 22-25 October. Registration is open for APWT 2015 and there is a call for presentations/panels. Both APWT members and non-members may attend. There are reduced rates for Filipino residents. PARTICIPATING AUTHORS include Romesh Gunesekera, Jose Dalisay, Cristina Pantoja Hidalgo,Merlinda Bobis, Francesca Randle-Short, David Carlin, Xu Xi, Robin Hemley, Dinah Roma, Dai Fan, Tim Tomlinson, Sally Breen, and many other established and emerging writers, translators and publishers. APWT’s conferences are springboards to the Asian literary community and the world’s fastest growing reading markets. The CALL for Panelists and Moderators is open until 1st September.  Proposals may be made by people who are already registered for the conference. Discussion topics will be chosen to appeal to the broad writing community.
