jlfwelcome As the largest FREE literary festival on earth, the ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) runs 21-25 January and brings together some of the greatest thinkers and writers from across South Asia and the world. Still time to enter the JLF Annual Writing Competition. From Nobel laureates to local language writers, Man Booker prize winners to debut novelists, every January the most remarkable, witty, sensitive and brilliant collection of authors come together for five days of readings, debates and discussions at the beautiful Diggi Palace in the Rajasthani capital. JLF, which began in 2006, is now regarded as a cultural catalyst within India and around the world, exposing audiences to a constant flow of ideas. Featuring live music sessions and interactive workshops, the Festival provides a space to dare, dream and imagine. The 2015 ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival Annual Writing Competition presents the opportunity every month to writers to submit creative pieces, and reviews or reports on the Festival authors and their works. The best 5 will be published on the festival website and its related magazines and partners each fortnight leading up to the event.

Writing can be in any format (poetry, story, book review, author analysis etc) as long as it relates to JLF authors/ books.

And if you happen to be the ages of 18 and above, here’s some icing for your cake – the most promising 10 of these entrants will be offered bursaries to be part of the 2015 ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival Blogging Team. You will get to travel to Jaipur, and blog directly from the festival!

NOTE: this competition is open to global participation. However, only Indian Domestic travel for winner to and from Metro cities in India (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad) to Jaipur will be provided, via train.

Deadline to submit entries is 10th and 20th of each month.

Best 5 for each fortnight will be published on the JLF site.

Competition closes on 20th December 2014.
