Scriptwriters Guild of Greece was founded in 1989. It’s mission is to protect writers' rights as creators and professionals in the audiovisual industry.

As a constitutional member of the Federation of Scriptwriters in Europe (FSE), SGG helps the collaboration with fellow scriptwriters from other countries, for the protection of the rights of the scriptwriters and the understanding of the importance of the script, in European and International level.

The activities of SGG consists of giving seminars, participating in various committees, improving its status, claiming the creators' rights by forcing the implementation of the relevant constitutional laws. It also puts in a great deal of effort to ensure that writers are properly credited.
