VG BILD-KUNST's Cultural Fund fulfils the cultural task of the collecting society. It allocates project awards to photographers and graphical designers and supports important cultural projects within the film field.

The Cultural Fund obtains its funds from the VG BILD-KUNST revenues that result from the administration of copyrights. When distributing them to the members a certain share fixed in the distribution scheme will be retained for cultural purposes.

In the field of Professional Group I (Fine Arts) funds are passed on to Stiftung Kunstfonds. As far as the other two Professional Groups are concerned - photography/design and film/TV/audiovision - elected advisory councils decide on the promotion in these fields.
