The International Film Festival ERA NEW HORIZONS has been brought to life with the aim of presenting to the audience films which push the boundaries of conventional cinema – thus showing, that the cinema of the 21st century (largely shaped by the expectations of the mass public) leaves a lot of room for creativity for directors, who decide not to keep pace with the fashion; the individualists who use their own style and language that is truly unique. The key part of the festival is the competition section, which will feature 18 films never screened in Poland before, carefully selected from among hundreds that are presented at international film fairs and festivals worldwide. One of them will be receive the GRAND PRIX – the festival’s main prize, awarded by the public. The remaining films will be traditionally presented in the following thematic series:- panorama of the world cinema: masters and discoveries- documentaries / essays – documentary films expressing very subjective visions and views of the modern world made by artists from many different countries.- films of the season - art-house films recently released in Poland.- the art of document- midnight madness - world cinematographies
