Weltformat Graphic Design Festival - call for poster design submissions

Weltformat Graphic Design Festival is again looking for the most exciting newcomer poster designers! We look forward to your submission – everyone younger than 27, whether student, intern or at the start of their career, can participate for the Newcomer Award.

The twenty best projects will be presented in an exhibition during Weltformat Graphic Design Festival 2019. After the exhibition, the winning poster will be shown at 500 locations throughout Switzerland and awarded CHF 1500.

This year's theme of Weltformat Graphic Design Festival is Tools and Rules. We are interested in the ways in which the work of designers and their visual solutions are influenced by tools and instruments as well as certain rules and guidelines.

Newcomer Award subject: Manifesting Rules

Rules and regulations may limit creativity – on the other hand, they can be liberating, especially in times of seemingly endless possibilities. The question is, whether exciting results emerge when graphic designers disregard rules or rather when they consciously allow restrictions. Are design rules crucial and important or just an unnecessary dictation and the only rule to follow should be: no rules? Show us which formal and content-related rules you personally act on – and which ones you think should definitely be broken.
