Moving Identities performing arts residencies on “European Identities today”

Moving Identities calls for applications from companies of established performing artists (2–5 people) based in Belgium, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Norway, and Spain, for 3 paid local and international residencies between October 2023 and April 2024.

The programme targets applicants who can relate to or who are willing to explore the themes of diversity and inclusion under the overall focus “European Identities today.”

When is it?

There are 3 paid residencies: 1 local and 2 international. The dates vary, depending on location, by are generally in October 2023, October–November 2023 and April 2024.

Who is it for?

Companies of 2 to 5 established performing artists with a strong artistic vision and/or practice related to the theme “European Identity today.”

It is open to all artistic approaches within the performing arts (research based, artistic activism, production, social engagement and more).

What is offered?

• 4,000 EUR fee per artist for a total of 6 weeks + per diems
• Travel and insurance expenses 
• Mentorships from experts in diversity, LGBTQIA+ representation, sustainability, and touring
• Connections with a hosting artist in each city 
• Assistance in planning a local event at the end of each residency

The programme is conscious of sustainability and will prioritise slow travel where possible.
