Call for Stories | EU artists with professional experience of China

None
chinaeuOn the Move is seeking stories from EU-based artists and cultural professionals with experience of working in China, through a residency, performance tour, training, collaboration project etc. to inform a mobility guide to China for young Europeans.

On the Move is very happy to have just confirmed the support from the Mission of the People Republic of China to the European Union in Brussels to produce an online guide for young European artists and cultural professionals for their first mobility experience in China! This guide will be available from January 2014 on On the Move’s website.

This online guide will include tips, resources and information based on existing online information for first European artists / mobility beginners in China.

To enrich this guide with stories from EU based artists and cultural professionals, we are calling for those who already had such a mobility experience either through a residency, the touring of a performance, a training, a collaboration project, the participation in one event in China (festival, meeting etc).

The On the Move team will be very keen in having a short email interview with you (5 questions maximum). All disciplines can be covered from visual arts to performing arts, multi-disciplinary art forms, cinema and video, cultural heritage, research etc.

EU based artists and cultural professionals below 35 years (when they had their first mobility experience in China) are particularly encouraged to get in touch with the On the Move’s team. However we are open to all types of feedbacks (whatever the age is) as long as the shared stories are related to a first cultural mobility experience in China.

Should you be based in a EU country and interested to share your first China experience, please email On the Move at mobility (a) on-the-move.org before the 31st of October. We promise that the email interview will not be too long. We highly believe that such experiences are important to be shared in order to inspire others to be better equipped for their up-coming mobility experience in China! Thank you!
