Three Australian artists have taken their work overseas to Asia to immerse themselves in countries and cultures quite different from their own. An ABC Radio Australia broadcast catches up with them in conversation with presenter Phil Kafcaloudes - an interesting discussion on navigating international collaboration, cultural difference and more.

Nik Phillips is a musician making in roads into the Chinese pop music market and has become the first westerner to reach as high as No:4 on the biggest music chart in China. Kirsty Murray is one of three Australian authors who was part of Bookwallah which involved Indian and Australian authors going on a long train journey together across India and Peter Wilson a theatre director who went to Beijing to direct Cho Cho.

So how successful were these cross cultural artist collaborations?, Phil Kafcaloudes speaks to all three to find out.
