ASEF culture360 is pleased to announce a media partnership with BUKRUK II Urban arts festival, a 10-day project featuring public wall paintings, but also art exhibitions, artist talks, animation screenings, open-air music festival, visual happenings, mapping projections and workshops.

 

ASEF culture360 will be one of the media partners of the 2nd edition of BUK RUK street art, illustration and music festival which will take place on 23-31 January 2016 in Bangkok, Thailand. All exhibitions, walls and activities will be set in the riverside, around Bang Rak / Klong San district, with the hope that the public interventions will help breathe new life into Bangkok’s new creative district and attract international attention to one of its richest and nevertheless neglected historic center of the Thai capital city.

This year, BUKRUK II will focus on the Asia-Europe connection. For this edition, the organizers focused on a selection of emerging and established Asian and European artists who are becoming more and more eloquent and original on the international level.  Among the visual artists featured in BUKRUK II are Aitch, Saddo, Motomichi Nakamura, Aryz, Daehyun Kim, Daen Sudsakon, Daan Botlek, Florence Lucas, Kult, Lolay, Nychos, Panop  Koonwat, Escif, Roa, Sten & Lex and Martha Cooper.

The Festival will comprise a series of activities and events; public wall art showcase, music festival, exhibitions, animation screenings, talks, workshops, mobile print shop.

To kick-off this creative ‘invasion’ (BUK RUK in Thai), a one of a kind music festival will officially launch BUKRUK II on  23 January at the Docklands (near the Chao Phraya River), with bands and DJs from Europe and Asia, including El Guincho, DyE, the Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band, Degaruda, Yellow Fang, Kampot Playboys, and mapping/ video projections by Freelencer & Daan Botlek and a light installation by The Frameless Collective.
