Osaka Film Council

As Japan's first film commission set up in 2000, the OFC extends its professionalism to any aspect of filming in Osaka, including assisting in the negotiating of permits to the recruitment of extras. OFC, upon requests from filmmakers, offers information on possible locations and acts as an agent to gain shooting permissions from property owners. The Council, however, is not responsible for concluding any contracts, making any payment, nor compensating for any damages. The filmmakers themselves shall be responsible for these matters. If help is provided, OFC requests that they be credited in the end credits. Universal Studios Japan has recently (March 2001) opened in Osaka greatly enhancing its status as a 'Filmmaking City' with immense advantages.
