National Short Film Competition

Launched in 2001, this is an annual contest held in September for both amateur and professional filmmakers across the country. Each entry must be no longer than 15 minutes and must focus on the past or present of Vietnam and its people. 30 million VND (US$1,900) is awarded to the best film, with a second prize of 20 million VND (US$1,275) and a third prize of 10 million VND (US$650). The best entries are broadcast on Vietnam Television.
