National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazkhstan in Astana

The National Academic Library of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Astana was created by a decree by the Government of Kazakhstan in 2004.

The library offers a wide range of services, including an e-catalogue, free access to the Internet and remote electronic resources, virtual information service, electronic delivery of documents, and huge selection of books, newspapers, magazines and multimedia materials. The National Academic Library’s collection includes over 1.5 million items. Its study spaces can accommodate over 500 visitors at a time. The library has a website that became the basis for the creation of the Kazakhstan National Electronic Library (www.kazneb.kz).

The National Academic Library is a member of the Library Association of Kazakhstan, the Library Association of Eurasia, and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).
