Agency For Cultural Affairs

The Agency for Cultural Affairs (ACA) was established in 1968 through a merger between the former Cultural Bureau of the Ministry of Education and the Cultural Properties Protection Commission. Since 6 January, 2001, the ACA has been reorganized in conjunction with the reorganization of Japan's central government. In line with their promotion of inter-cultural exchange, the Agency also has an International Exchange regarding cinema where it provides assistance with expenses for participating in overseas film festivals around the world. Their other support programs include fellowships and exchanges.
