We Are Museums 2016 | Romania

We Are Museums is a yearly event at the intersection of culture and innovation, which gathers 200-300 delegates each year in a European emerging city. Its 2016 edition will take place in Bucharest from 6 to 8 June, at the National Museum of Contemporary Art (Muzeul National de Arta Contemporana, MNAC) and at Anexa MNAC. The programme of We Are Museums 2016 combines keynote addresses, panels, workshops and breakout sessions, as well as several informal meeting spaces. In the course of two days, over 20 representatives of museums and related institutions from Europe and North America will present their experiences and views. Among the participants are some ASEMUS member museums, such as the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw, Poland.  

Museum Rocket - the 1st Museum and Entrepreneurship Fair

On the occasion of We Are Museums 2016, Bucharest will also host the first edition of Museum Rocket. Curated by We Are Museums, this new event will present 25 selected regional and European startups that have developed ideas which could contribute to the development of museums. Museum Rocket’s ambition is to nurture a budding local market of startups and to initiate working relations with cultural organisations. It will gather all the key players small businesses need to meet to understand, learn and test their projects.
