The Alpinale Film Festival which was established in 1985 is held every August in Nenzing in Vorarlberg. It is specifically designed to provide a platform for both professional and amateur filmmakers to conduct multi-cultural and open dialogue with creative people and to present their work to an interested audience.

Films in the following categories are invited:

a) SHORT FILM INTERNATIONAL Short-films of all kinds (fiction, animation and experimental), produced under professional conditions.

b) SHORT FILM ACADEMY In this category there are productions by students and graduates of colleges of film and media arts, film academies and other similar institutions.

c) SHORT FILM ANIMATION Animated films of various kinds.
