The A.F.C.A.E . gathers 942 establishments representing 1893 screens distributed in all the country. These independent places support the cultural diffusion by film aiming at an aesthetic and geographical opening. Through its various working groups (Action/Promotion, Young audience, Repertory), the Association has a determining action for the defense of cinematographic pluralism with circulation of copies, edition of documents, animations, organization the retrospectives exhibition. The AFCAE is a founder and active member of the CICAE (International Confederation of the Cinemas of Art and Test) which joins together nearly 3000 European and international screens, attached with the same values of the independent cinema.
