RUPERT’s Residency Program in Vilnius, Lithuania is suited for all kinds of creative thinkers: artists, writers, curators, cultural managers, and academics. Open call for applications for Winter/Spring and Spring/Summer residency periods.

Through the Residency Program, Lithuanian and international residents are provided with the opportunity to live and work in Vilnius, developing their individual projects and immersing themselves in the region’s creative sphere. Residents benefit from collaboration with Rupert’s robust educational program, which draws participants and mentors from a wide range of complementary artistic backgrounds.

The applications for Winter/Spring and Spring/Summer residency rounds are now accepted until 20 December, 2013.

Residency dates are 1 February—12 April and 21 April – 30 June 2014. There are two types of residencies: long duration (10 weeks) and short/flexible duration (2-8 weeks).

Rupert residency and educational programs are separate but closely related and sometimes overlapping. Residents may communicate, collaborate and participate in workshops with educational program participants while developing their own projects. All ideas and topics are welcome, however, Rupert especially encourages proposals involving educational, social and Vilnius-specific (involving local heritage, communities, institutions, etc.) projects.

Rupert offers free work and living space for each resident, yet the applicant is responsible for covering their personal (daily and travel) expenses.

Please send your application form along with your CV and portfolio (no more than 5 works) to residencies@rupert.lt by midnight, 20 December, 2013.

RUPERT is a centre for Art and Education devoted to establishing close cooperation between artists, thinkers, researchers, and other cultural actors through interdisciplinary programs and residencies. A knowledge-based platform for innovative creative production, Rupert integrates with the social and cultural framework of the city of Vilnius while simultaneously supporting a strong international focus.

Located in a picturesque area of Vilnius and only a short distance from the city’s flourishing cultural center, Rupert is set by the river Neris and a small beach, surrounded by peaceful fields and a forest. The residencies are located in a newly-constructed building designed by award-winning Lithuanian architect Audrius Ambrasas.
