ICOM-ITC Workshop on Learning in Museums | Travel Grants

The International Council of Museums’ International Training Centre for Museum Studies (ICOM-ITC) will hold its 3rd training workshop in Beijing 27 Oct - 4 Nov 2014. Travel grants available for selected international participants.

The workshop is entitled ‘Learning in Museums’. A number of outstanding international experts will give lectures and conduct discussions on topics such as best practices in developing learning programmes and informal learning and several Chinese experts will showcase education programmes from their museums. Hands-on sessions and excursions are also part of the programme.

ICOM, ICOM China and the Palace Museum will award travel grants to international participants attending the training seminar. Both full and partial grants are available.

Candidates should be middle-management staff of ICOM member museums or institutions which have paid their membership dues for 2013 and 2014. They should be fluent in written and spoken English and be aged 45 years or under.

Around 30 participants will be selected for the workshop, half from China and half from other countries. The Chinese participants are selected by the Palace Museum, the international participants are selected by ICOM; both use the same selection criteria.

Applications should be sent by 19 September.
